The Ohio Army National Guard’s 122nd Army Band, Ohio’s premier military music ensemble, will perform in Medina on July 6th at 7:00 PM on the town square, prior to the Medina Community Band Concert at 8:30 PM.
For over 50 years, the Ohio National Guard’s 122nd Army Band has been a staple of the musical tradition of the United States military in Ohio. Members from every corner of the state are charged with carrying out the mission of increasing troop morale and creating a link between the public and the Ohio Army National Guard. The 122nd performs in dozens of concerts and ceremonies each year.
The 122nd’s performing groups — the Concert Band, Parade Band, Rock Band, Brass Quintet, and Tuba Ensemble — perform throughout the year all across the state of Ohio. The 122nd performs at events ranging from military dinner engagements to free concerts for the public. It performs in several parades per year, including the Veterans Day Parade and Red White and Boom in downtown Columbus. The band has even performed during halftime for games played by the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals professional football teams. Band members spend a significant amount of time during the year preparing a summer performance schedule that allows the audience to hear the full breadth of talent of the 122nd’s members in a concert setting. A full list of the band’s upcoming performances can be found on the band’s website at www.122ndarmyband.com.
